100 Years Austrian Embassy Bangkok

 

M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor of Bangkok presided over a reception on the occasion of 100 years Austrian Embassy Bangkok and renaming of the street in front of the Embassy into Soi Nandha-Mozart, South Sathorn road. The event was hosted by the Austrian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Dr. Johannes Peterlik and Dr. Ria-Ursula Peterlik on Saturday, January 14, 2012.

The Soi was renamed on January 1, 2012 to celebrate 100 years of the Embassy of Austria in Bangkok. Soi Nandha-Mozart was named in honour of Wolfgang Amade Mozart (1756-1791). This enduring Austrian is among the most influential composers of the Classical Era with more than 600 masterpieces to his name. His music continues to inspire the people of Thailand.
